About Wolverley & Cookley Parish Council

The Wolverley and Cookley Parish Council is a local authority that makes decisions on behalf of the people in the parish. It is the level government closest to the community, with the Wyre Forest District Council and Worcestershire City Council above it in the hierarchy.

The Parish Council is financed through the precept, an amount of money calculated as an estimate for the coming financial year and collected as part of your Council Tax. This money is used to improve facilities and services for local people.

Wolverley & Cookley Parish Council make all kinds of decisions on issues that affect the local community. Probably the most common topics that parish councils get involved with are planning matters (they are statutory consultees), crime prevention and roads & highways.

As a Parish Council, we actively encourage input from residents on what the community needs and welcome members of the community to attend our monthly meetings to find out how we are serving you.
