Cookley In Bloom Judging Day 2022 – Monday 16th July

FROM THE COOKLEY BLOOMERS – WE NEED YOUR HELP

Cockley once again has entered the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) ‘Village in Bloom’ competition and with your help we are hoping to continue the success of our previous entries in 2018 – Silver Gilt, 2019 – Gold, 2020 – no competition due to the pandemic and 2021 – Gold.

Judging day is Monday 18th July

The route this year will be Westhead Road, Woodlands Road, Westhead Road North, Castle Road, AustcliffeHoliday Park, Lea Lane and the Sensory/Community Garden ending at the Village Hall for a well-earned cuppa!

The themes this year will be ‘The Platinum Jubilee’ and ‘Hot Air Ballooning’ with the main colour scheme being red, white and blue.

Please help. We need all your support to maintainthe success of previous years so if you can help by looking after the area around your own home e.g., weeding, grass cutting, litter picking and keeping your garden tidy, it would be much appreciated.

The Bloomers will be concentrating on the publicareas but are willing to advise and support where necessary. Just speak to Bill if you need any help or advice.

You can also opt to look after a specific area or jointhe ‘Bloomers’ who usually meet on a Mondaymorning around 10.15 for a couple of hours. Theywelcome help from anyone who has an hour or so to spare (even if it is not on a regular basis) to help keep the village’s public areas/roads and verges tidy. Suggestions for other areas that need someTLC are always welcome. The Bloomers can advise and help get you started and then it is over to you to keep it going.

Thank you to all those who have/are alreadysupporting us with donations of plants, materials, financial support and time.
